He is the author of ten books in Greek and international publishers and more than 200 of his papers, regarding the pedagogical use of ICT in the field of Distance Education and Lifelong Learning, have been published in international scientific journals and conference proceedings with over 1,400 cross-references (Google Scholar).
Since 2008 he has been a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Scientific Journal: Computers and Education, and of the International Journal of Mobile and Blended Learning (IJMBL) as well as member of the review committee of several journals such as: ¨International Journal on E-Learning (IJEL) & Open Education: The Journal for Open and Distance Education and Educational Technology. Since 2000 he has been a member of scientific committees/essay review committees in over 100 international and national conferences. - ICT Pedagogy in the field of Lifelong and Distance Education (Advanced Teacher Training Environments, School Distance Education)
- The Pedagogical use of ICT and in particular social media, artificial intelligence, digital storytelling, Virtual and Augmented Reality, to encourage the creativity of students and teachers, as well as the safe and creative use of the Internet. -Since 2000, he has been the scientific director of a complementary school distance education program using ICT "ODYSSEAS: ICT and Creativity" among primary schools in Greece and in other European countries, in which 8,000 students and 350 teachers from 150 Primary Schools have participated. - During the period of the pandemic March 2020- December 2021 he was responsible for the pedagogical planning & implementation of a module of educational programmes of the eLearning Lab for the support of teachers in matters of school distance education. More than 40,000 teachers from Greece and Cyprus participated in the programmes. -From 2010 to 2012 he was the Vice-President of the Pedagogical Institute and Scientific Manager of the Major Teacher Training Programme in the context of which 8,000 primary and secondary teachers were trained. -From 2003 to 2017 he had the scientific responsibility of implementing an integrated online training environment for expatriate teachers, within the framework of the "Expatriate Education" programme. |

1. Education Leaders Awards 2022: First prize for the contribution of the University of Crete | eLearning Lab in teacher training during the pandemic (2020-2021).

National Distinction (2016): The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs awarded the 3rd Primary School of Agios Dimitrios a prize for their activities within the ODYSSEAS 2016 program: Universal Values-Journey in the Aegean Sea, asea of humanity 3. National Distinction (2013): The ODYSSEAS Programme is included in the action "Academic and Scientific Excellence" of the Ministry of Education and Religion, Culture and Sports ( http://excellence.minedu.gov.gr ) ( http://excellence .minedu.gov.gr ) 4.
